FEATURED TIP
PROVIDE YOUR OWN RESOURCES
Don't link away from your site
A business website with a "Resources" page is an excellent idea. But linking your visitors to other sites helps the other guys' websites, not your own.
It's a little bit of work, but providing your own Resources can cause a significant increase in your website traffic and establishes you as the industry expert.
Example resources are articles, tips, ideas, how-to's, FAQ's, "Ask the Expert", self-assessments, surveys, news, blogs, etc. - again, resident on your own website.

FEATURED NO-NO
Not demonstrating that you're actually out there doing it
It's a given your business website tells people you're the best at what you do. But your visitors really have no way of knowing you can do what you say you can do, or that you even know how to.
Somewhere along the way, you'll need some sort demo, case study, portfolio, or interactives such as surveys or self-assessment tools.
You gotta give away a little of the milk so they know they want to buy the cow.
